First New Quizzes must be turned on for each course created individually.
- Settings
- Feature Previews tab
- New Quizzes turned on
Then you only get the option to pick which type of quiz if you add the quiz from inside the quizzes left menu.
- Quizzes in left menu
- + Quiz
- Select New Quizzes
Once the quiz is created you go add it to the module you want it to be a part of.
- + on the module
- switch to Quiz
- scroll down to find the name of the New Quiz you created.

Respondus is working with New Quizzes. You may turn New Quizzes on inside your course. To turn on New Quizzes in your course, go to Settings and select Feature Options, and then set the “New Quizzes” option to On.
Respondus is working differently with New Quizzes. You access the quiz from inside Canvas and they it will force open the Respondus lockdown browser when you click on the quiz to begin. In Classic Quizzes you open the Respondus browser and login to Canvas and then access your quiz. So, it will not matter
