Limited Open Enrollment-Student Transfers

New student applications for transfer for the 2024-2025 school year will begin in May 2024.  Applications will be available beginning May 1, 2024

Returning Student transfers:  Pre-Approval letters for the 2024-2025 school year will be mailed at the end of March. Please ensure that your contact information and mailing address is correct in skyward. To make changes to your address please contact the campus your student attends.

Glen Rose ISD will accept new student transfer requests at the following campuses and grade levels:
Glen Rose Elementary
K-2ND GRADES ARE OPEN TO NEW TRANSFER REQUESTS
(PRE-K IS CLOSED for 23-24 school year; Grades Kindergarten, 1 & 2 are open to new transfer requests)

Glen Rose Intermediate
4TH AND 5TH GRADE ARE OPEN TO NEW TRANSFER REQUESTS
( 3RD GRADE IS CLOSED for 23-24 school year–Grades 4 and 5 are open to new transfer requests)

Glen Rose Junior High
ALL GRADES AT JUNIOR HIGH ARE OPEN TO NEW TRANSFER REQUESTS
(Grades 6, 7 and 8 are open to new transfer requests)

Glen Rose High School
ALL GRADES AT HIGH SCHOOL ARE OPEN TO NEW TRANSFER REQUESTS
(Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 are open to new transfer requests)


 

On July 25, 2011, the Glen Rose ISD Board of Trustees approved a Limited Open Enrollment Program for non-resident students who desire to attend class in Glen Rose ISD. There is no required tuition or payment. Approval of Limited Open Enrollment will be based on the following:

1. The current enrollment at the particular grade level or class as well as any special program requirements of the student seeking admission. Consideration shall include the effect of additional students in that grade or program, facilities, staffing needs and the educational opportunity of resident students.
2. The disciplinary record of the student seeking admission.
3. The attendance record of the student seeking admission.
4. The academic record of the student seeking admission including the student’s performance or applicable state-mandated assessments, the student’s record of promotion to the next grade level and the student’s extracurricular record.
5. The parent’s compliance with District and Campus policies and regulations.

TO APPLY FOR ENROLLMENT:

1. Review the transfer policy FDA (LOCAL)

2. Complete the following documents and return to Glen Rose ISD, Attention: Dr. Trig Overbo, Superintendent.  The application packet will be accepted only with the following documents:

  • Completed Transfer Application/Agreement Form 2023-2024
  • Latest Report card
  • State required test scores for the previous school year (grades 3-12)
  • Any other standardized test results (if applicable)
  • Attendance history
  • Discipline records for the previous school year’s grading period.

3. Completed applications will then be forwarded to the applicable campus that will schedule an interview with the student and parents.

4. The campus will submit a recommendation to either deny or approve the request based on the established criteria.

5. A letter will be sent to you regarding the status of the application.
