Promethean Panel – ScreenShare

Change/check these settings on both your board and MacBook to optimize stability of the connection when using ScreenShare with Promethean Panel.

ActivPanel Changes:

  1. Update your board-

It should say that your board is at:
    Mainboard firmware 4.2.0.84

  2. Change/Check a Network Setting-

First make sure connection is on GRISD (not guest)
    GRISD
Turn on “Wake on Network”. (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT CHANGE WE HAVE FOUND)
    Wake
  3.   Rename your board-
Click on Unified Menu / Screen Share / where Panel Name is

Type in the name using Campus Room#. If you want to add your name after that, keep it short.
Click the green check to accept the name change.

MacBook Changes:

  1. Check Network connected to GRISD
    AirPlay
  2. Check BlueTooth on (should be dark not gray)
    Bluetooth
  3. You can connect to panel in 2 ways. Turn on ScreenShare on the Panel so the connection has been started.
    ScreenShare
One way to try: AirPlay on your MacBook:

If the name of your board does not show other way to try; you will use ScreenShare on the MacBook. Install Promethean Screen Share from Self-service. Open ScreenShare on the MacBook. Type in the number from the board and be sure to click on the touchback option.

Type in your name. Click enter the waiting room. Two good things about this way to connect is that you have control from the board and it is easy to join back if dropped because it will hold the code
  4. Check that the Sound is at the location you want (either Board or MacBook.)
    Sound
  5. Check to see that your MacBook will not go to sleep and break the connection. Apple/System Preferences/Energy Saver

    and
