GRJH & GRHS Cheerleaders had success at camps

Glen Rose Junior High Cheerleaders recently attended the NCA Cheerleading & Mascot Camp at Tarleton State University. These ladies had an extremely successful camp as a squad and individually. This squad received the following awards: Spirit Stick every day, Superior ribbons every night. Allie Austin, Marley Draper, Callyn Miller, Mignon Miller, Jordyn Placide, Hope Vickers, Savannah Williams, Paisley Evans, Ashlyn Mullins, and Cally Schlabs were nominated for All-American Cheerleader with Callyn Miller and Mignon Miller being named to the All-American Squad. Allie Austin received the “pin it forward” award for her leadership and willingness to help her teammates as well as other squads. Ali Moss won a Mascot Leadership award. The squad received awards for their jumps and tumbling as well as receiving a bid for nationals. The squad also took home a trophy for Top Band Chant Performance. The squad and Tuffy participated in the 4th of July parade and are very excited for the 2018-2019 season with “Meet the Tigers” August 20th!

The JV Cheer squad recently attended the NCA cheerleading camp held at Tarleton State University and received the following awards:
Top Team in Band Chant, Stunt S.A.F.E. award, a Bid for NCA National Competition, Spirit Stick, 9 All-American nominees including Addison Barber Williams, Lilla Boyett, Keely Clayton, McKenzie Hackler, Julien Harte, Zaidey Mills, Faith Shuffield, Brooklyn Vara and Kennedy Wooten. Lilla Boyett was named to the All-American squad.

Successful camp! 8 All American nominees (Shalyn Wedel, Emma Crabtree, Tatum Stegint, Abby Rodriguez, Kiara Bruce, Natalie Gill, Kennedy Overton, & Shelby Simpson ) All American cheerleader (Shalyn Wedel) Pin It Forward Leadership Award, Tatum Stegint, all Superior ribbons, 3 spirit sticks, stunt safe award, All American Mascot nominee (Emily Boucher) and the highest honor of all….. Shalyn Wedel got invited to try out for the NCA instructor team! If she does it, we will have two Glen Rose cheerleaders as NCA instructors which says a lot about our talent in the cheer program!
