What is the One-to-One Program?

At the April 23, 2012 regular meeting of the GRISD Board of Trustees, board members approved funding for the implementation of a 1:1 laptop program in grades 6-12 beginning with the 2012-2013 school year. All teachers were issued a MacBook Air in May at the conclusion of the school year after receiving required training. Students in grades 6-12 were issued a MacBook Air in August 2012.

Glen Rose ISD is committed to providing students with a 21st Century Education and unlimited opportunities to learn digitally, think creatively and to be well prepared for Career and College Readiness.This will be an exciting journey as we strive to transform the learning process by individualizing instruction and actively engaging students in the learning process.

 

MacBook Usage Fee Schedule (6th – 12th grades only)

Annual Usage Fee Schedule is based on the National School Lunch Program Free and Reduced categories

– Full Pay – $30 for first MacBook, $10 for each additional sibling in the household who receive a MacBook
– Reduced Pay – $20 for first MacBook, $10 for each additional sibling in the household who receive a MacBook
– Free Meals – $10 for first MacBook, $5 for each additional sibling in the household who receive a MacBook

 

 

Current Replacement Parts Price List (Handbook, Section 11, Part 4)

11.4 Loss of Replaceable Computer Parts/Accessories
If a student loses or destroys any of the following components, they will be charged actual replacement costs for those items. Currently those prices are as follows:

  • Power Module + cord – $20.00
    • Cord only = $2.00
  • MacBook covering (Colored)- $20.00
  • Courier bag – $25.00
    • Pouch – $2.00
    • Strap – $2.00
