Glen Rose ISD is gearing up for one of the most anticipated days of the year—The 4th Annual Big Event, a powerful tradition of service, gratitude, and unity. On Friday, May 9, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., students and staff will step out of their usual routines to roll up their sleeves and serve the Somervell County community with heart and purpose.
This is more than a service day. It’s a celebration of kindness, teamwork, and what makes Glen Rose truly special: our people.
From helping local residents with yard work to pitching in for small business projects, every act of service shows that our students don’t just learn about good citizenship, they live it.
And while our hands will be hard at work, our hearts will be full of thanks. At 10:00 a.m., GRISD will host an Appreciation Brunch for our incredible Volunteers, Watch DOGS, and Substitutes in the High School Cafeteria. It’s our way of saying thank you to those who support our schools in countless unseen ways all year long.
At the heart of it all is our district motto: Love, Serve, Lead. It’s more than words, it’s a way of life here in Glen Rose, and The Big Event is a shining example of that mission in action.
So get ready, Tigers. This Friday, let’s LOVE loud, SERVE proud, and LEAD to make a difference that lasts long after the morning ends. 🐾
