GRHS Culinary Arts students Give Back to the Community

Culinary Arts students from Glen Rose High School’s Culinary Arts Program recently planned, prepared, and served guests at the Somervell County Historical Society’s Valentine’s Fundraiser Dinner for Barnard’s Mill. Students prepared and served a delicious menu including a trio of cocktail shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce, strawberry spinach salad, beef tenderloin with a Mushroom sauce and a horseradish sour cream, loaded mashed potatoes, green bean bundles, rolls, and a variety of mini desserts including chocolate mousse, Oreo truffles, pecan pie bites, mini cheesecake bite and a lemon cookie. The proceeds from the dinner will go to maintain Barnard’s Mill and keep this historic Glen Rose landmark up and running, as well as, provide funds for updates to the mill.

Students who served the dinner were: Practicum in Culinary Arts Student: Lexi Sanchez, Intro Student: Trevor Whipps, Culinary II Student: Marissa Beaman, Culinary I student: Marari Beltran, Intro Student: Carson Osborne, and Culinary II Student: Addy Fenner.
