As of October 20, 2020, Glen Rose ISD has 2 active lab confirmed positive COVID-19 cases among students at Glen Rose HS and 2 active cases of lab confirmed positive COVID-19 among staff at Glen Rose Intermediate. Since August 12, 2020, Glen Rose ISD has reported a total of 13 lab confirmed COVID-19 cases in the district out of 1,950 students and 295 staff members. Of the 13 reported cases, 9 are recovered and 4 are currently active.

Glen Rose ISD provides updates as information is received at the GRISD COVID-19 Dashboard on the website at www.grisd.net.

Glen Rose ISD notifies the local public health authority, Department of State Health Services and Texas Department of Health Services Reporting Center of every lab confirmed positive case of COVID-19 among Glen Rose ISD students and staff.

No hospitalization or evidence of institutional spread have been reported. Contact tracing is ongoing and all students/staff members determined to be in close contact of a person with a lab confirmed case of COVID-19 will be notified individually and will be placed on a 14-day precautionary self-quarantine. Close contact is defined as being within 6 ft. of an infected individual for 15 minutes or greater without a mask, shield or face covering. Anyone determined to be in close contact will be placed on home isolation for 14 days to mitigate the further risk of spread, if applicable.

While we have no reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individuals have reason to be concerned, we ask that you monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. Wearing a mask and/or face shield helps ensure you do not meet the definition of exposure and are placed on home isolation for 14 days.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  • Temperature of 100.4 or higher
  • Sore Throat
  • New uncontrolled cough or difficulty breathing
  • Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
  • Severe headache
  • Loss of taste or smell

Unfortunately, COVID-19 symptoms are the same as flu, cold, and seasonal allergies which makes identification more difficult.

Thank you for your continued support of Glen Rose ISD! We will beat this together! Please contact your campus nurse or principal with any questions.
