On July 31, 2018,
President Trump signed the Strengthening Career and Technical Education
for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) into law. This act reauthorizes
the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education
Act of 2006 (Perkins IV). Funding supports a variety of activities,
including professional development and technical assistance; creation of
innovative programs of study; support for continuous improvement of
existing programs of study; career exploration;
guidance and advisement; data collection and analysis; supports for
at-risk learners; and program evaluation and monitoring.
