Message from Mr. Rotan on Wellness and Attendance

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that Influenza (Flu) is widespread in the state of Texas and many parts of the United States. Some school districts in North Texas have decided to close due to high percentages of student and staff absenteeism.

In 2017, Glen Rose ISD had an average daily attendance rate of 95% from January 3rd through February 17, 2017. Currently, student and staff absenteeism is running at normal or near normal for this time of year. Glen Rose ISD will continue to monitor student and staff attendance daily for any significant increases. Not all absences are flu related, as some have been due to seasonal allergies, strep throat, or various other reasons.

Please remind all to (1) wash hands frequently, (2) cover cough, (3) do not drink after others, and (4) stay home if running fever.

Thank you for your continued support of Glen Rose ISD!
